INTRODUCTION: Welcome to DRAW ME BALD "Draw me with no hair...for charity." Created by Bill Crowley. Bill's OCCUPATION: Humorous illustrator (books, humorous ad campaigns and business cartoons, caricature gifts from photos, quick sketches at Special Events, etc.) since 1971. Long-time member of the NATIONAL CARTOONIST SOCIETY. Sitting at the easel is still enjoyable for me.

Birth of DRAW ME BALD: Draw Me Bald, quite honestly, came to me like a flash of light one morning in early March of '07. I have always wanted to raise money for both myself and for charity...yet still be at the easel. Since I still need to earn a living...taking some of the earnings is part of the equation. Sorry about that...but let's be honest...I can't go to the gas pumps and get fuel for free because I raised some money for a charity a day or two ago!! OUT OF THE BLUE...it dawned on me that "people shave their heads for charity...I, AS AN ARTIST, COULD DRAW PEOPLE 12 MONTHS A YEAR...WITH NO HAIR...and raise money for charity!!!" At that moment DRAW ME BALD was created.

BASICS: I will draw people bald...either live at a Special Event...or from photos (either given to me or sent to me via the mailman or e-mail from around the world). I will draw a likeness of everyone...EXCEPT WITHOUT HAIR.

NOT PLASTIC: WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??? Simply put...we are human beings...not robots...or plastic images. DRAW ME BALD is a "people activity"...I am drawing someone to raise money for charity...but without hair on their heads. This shows a sacrifice of ego, in a way, to honor someone who has experienced CHEMOTHERAPY.

INSCRIPTION: not everyone that I draw will want an inscription at the lower part of the artwork ("In Honor of Grandma Rose", for instance) but I will gladly do so on request. Or...I will leave room for the donor to WRITE THEIR OWN MESSAGE in their own hand-writing if that is what they want. Also, a mention of a charity can be mentioned "I support Cancer Research" or "I support the Ronald McDonald House", etc., etc.

MORE BASICS: Presently I offer only ONE SIZE (11" x 14", standard frame size). All drawings in FULL COLOR (pastels).

ONLY ONE FACE PER DRAWING? No, I encourage COUPLES, FAMILIES, OFFICE STAFFS, TEAMS, etc. to be immortalized with no hair...for charity.

HOW MUCH? It's your decision on how much you wish to donate. The sky is the limit. There is a minimum donation: $20 - one face, $40 - two faces on same paper, add $10 each additional face. As stated earlier, the donation is split between the artist and the American Cancer Society. ( I wish 100% of donations went to the cancer group, but it's hard for me to put fuel in my car if I have no money...if you get my drift. Thank you for considering this artistic way of honoring those less fortunate than us. Suffering through chemotherapy is not a picnic... and to honor those who went through the treatment shows compassion on your part. Bill Crowley, artist. Add $5.00 for shipping/handling. HOW TO ORDER: Send photo(s) to my studio (COLORADO SMILES, 750 Citadel Drive East/ste 3048, Colorado Springs, CO 80909)...OR...send me photos via email (drawmebald@msn.com). Please write down the name or names that you want on the artwork (Bob or Robert?, Suzie or Susan?, etc.). Also...be sure to tell me what you want the inscription to say (example: In Loving of Grandmom. We miss you! or Dedicated to my dear husband. I Love You or I support Cancer Research) Remember...it is your drawing to hang up and dedicate this sensitive drawing whatever you feel in your heart. I will gladly write whatever you want written in the inscription.

ARE YOU THE ONLY ARTIST DOING THIS? Yes, as far as I know. I AM the creator of DRAW ME BALD and the inspiration to launch this idea came from my own busy little mind . And, down the road, there might be some copy-cats...but I am THE FIRST ON PLANET EARTH to draw people bald for charity.

CAN YOU DRAW US WITH HAIR...if requested? Sure! Why not!! All fees or distribution of funds follow the Draw Me Bald business plan.

PART OF SOLUTION...not THE PROBLEM: The activity of having me draw you with no fancy hairdo to raise money for charity, I'm hoping, will be a "feel good" thing. You'll feel good donating...and feel good showing off your picture on the wall. Let's all be PART OF THE SOLUTION.

HIRE ME!: As an artist, I am available to be hired to DRAW ON LOCATION ( trade shows, open houses, major malls, etc., etc. ) to draw people bald...for the pre-determined charity. Either I will be salaried for the event...or a percentage will be decided upon by all involved before the event. Ask for details, please. Draw Me Bald activities will always be ABOVE BOARD. It is about raising money for bona fide charities.

ANOTHER "New Twist": create a "Draw Me Bald Day" at your company or place of business. Hire Bill (as he is hired for any Special Event) at an hourly or daily rate...and have any or all employees get in line to be drawn bald...for charity...with a small donation. Again...because Bill is hired, ALL MONEY raised is donated. BE CREATIVE! why not announce that your company WILL MATCH donations raised...a DOUBLE WHAMMY for the charity. Everyone wins!!!
